Each month, we dedicate 20% of our profits to funding animal experiences for children in difficult circumstances across the UK. This means that every purchase you make directly supports our mission and helps to spread smiles, happiness and animal love.

Wondering what that really means? Lets break it down…

  • At the end of each month, we calculate the total income from Zoonity and subtract our core operating costs — including product costs, product fulfilment, marketing expenses, and website/platform fees. The result is our operating profit for the month. From this figure we then calculate and allocate 20% to our community commitment fund. This fund is used exclusively to cover trackable business costs related to arranging animal-based experiences for children across the UK. The fund money is only used for; centre admission fees, handler fees, and in some cases, transport costs.

  • This commitment strategy allows Zoonity to grow sustainably alongside the commitment fund, and allows us to deliver more community benefits all round, in line with our company mission.

  • All fund related payments are made directly by Zoonity Ltd to trusted and official providers and animal centres. We treat them as business expenses, in line with HMRC guidance, and maintain clear financial records for every payment.

  • Zoonity is a registered limited company, and our accounts are submitted annually to Companies House, where they are publicly accessible. We believe in transparency and are always happy to explain how the Community Fund works.

  • Follow along on our blog and social channels to see how your support makes an impact!

Our Commitment

What types of experiences are funded?

  • We work with our expansive network to fully fund and provide animal experiences that are fun, educational and leave long lasting memories.

  • We only partner with animal centres and professionals delivering to high ethical and animal welfare standards.

  • We fund two types of experiences: animal centre experiences (where children visit the animals) and animal handler visits (where animals are brought to the children by professional animal handlers when the children are unable to visit the animals).

  • Our funding money is only used for; centre admission fees, handler fees, and in some cases, transport costs.

  • Animal Centre Experiences include but are not limited to; General animal sanctuaries & wildlife rescue centres, farm animal rescue centres, dog and cat rescue centres, hedgehog sanctuaries, bird of prey rehabilitation centres, equine sanctuaries and centres, marine life rescue centres and sanctuaries, conservation-focused wildlife parks, ethical zoos with breeding and rewilding programs, bat rescue centres, urban wildlife hospitals, nature reserves with wildlife education hubs, community animal farms.

  • Animal Visit experiences include but are not limited to; Therapy dogs, rabbit and small mammal interaction sessions, miniature pony visits.

Who receives our funded support?

  • We want your support and contributions to stay local and make an impact that is immediately visible in the community. For this reason, all events take place in the UK, and are provided solely to UK based groups.

  • We aim to create the biggest positive impact possible, therefore our funded events are primarily dedicated to ‘children in difficult circumstances’.

  • ‘Children in difficult circumstances’ refers to, but is not limited to, children in the following environments; Children in adoption or residential care centres, children in hospitals or medical centres, children affected by abuse, acting as young carers or struggling with homelessness, children living in poverty or in lower income areas.

How does your support makes an impact?

  • This scheme and your support creates more positive change than we could ever list. Below are just a few highlights - we’ll try to keep it short and sweet!

  • Brings joy, comfort, and connection to children facing tough times, supporting their emotional and mental wellbeing.

  • Teaches the children empathy, responsibility and compassion, amongst many other social and emotional skills.

  • Supports local communities, economies, animal handlers and animal centres by increasing awareness, visibility and economic activity.

  • Teaches the next generation about the importance of respecting the creatures we share this planet with.

  • Opens up access to nature and animals for children who might not otherwise get the chance, sparking new interests, passions and dreams.

  • Spreads smiles across the UK by creating meaningful moments and long lasting memories for all involved.

  • The scheme means that each of your animal related purchases through zoonity are all small acts of kindness, which add up to create real and visible positive impacts. Our customers feel a sense of reward because helping others, feels good.

*With growth comes change - our commitment intricacies may evolve over time in order to better serve the community.*
